Leonardo Becomes an Apprentice at age 15
When Leonardo was 15 yrs old him and his family moved to Florence, Italy he became an apprentice to Verrocchio. He was already a very good artist and had a real talent in art. He also specialised at many other jobs such as a sculptor, musician, mathematician and a geologist but he used all of these jobs to help him with his artworks and it helped him because it gave him a different perspective that no other artist had. He then became the apprentice of the Italian artist Andrea del Verrocchio. This was when he first started to get known a little bit more than he already was. For the first six or seven years he learned a lot of things such as technical skills, metalwork, leather arts, carpentry, drawing and sculpturing. Most of these skills that he learnt came in handy when he got older because he knew what it took to create and make a wonderful and rich work of art. After he finished the six or seven years of learning he was accepted into The Painter’s Guide of Florence.
