Milan Invaded by French in 1499
On 1499, the French Army came to Milan and invaded it and they started to take over by using force, power and “politics”. This made Da Vinci flee from Milan for his safety although Da Vinci did return to Milan in 1506 after Milan had been restored to safety. When Milan was safe again, the French leader of Milan wanted Leonardo to come back because he was a very good painter and the royal family wanted him to become a painter for them. When he returned he spent half his time in Florence and half his time in Milan because he had many paintings and works in both places and both of the places gave him inspiration.
